Uptown encourages sustainable transportation alternatives – making public transit, walking and cycling more accessible and convenient.

Public Transit

Recent and future upgrades to the Uptown Transit Bus Hub make it easier for people to
choose transit. Once complete, active transportation and transit infrastructure will
include four new bus shelters.

Cycling and Walking

Our convenient location next to the Galloping Goose and Lochside Trail intersection make it easier than ever to choose two wheels! Bike lock-ups are available once you arrive. Our Employee program also offers safe bike storage and commuter washrooms.

Ev Charging Stations

Uptown has EV charging stations as well as 12 Tesla Charging Stations.

Day-to-Day Operations

At Uptown, sustainability is integrated into our daily operations. From energy-efficient
systems to chemical-free landscaping, we’re committed to minimizing our environmental
impact while setting a positive example in retail property management.

Our sustainable practices include:

• Eco-conscious maintenance: We use recycled paper products and
  environmentally friendly cleaning solutions wherever practical and effective.
• Smart energy management: Lighting systems are controlled by advanced design-built automation, using the most efficient products available at the time of
  installation. All CFL and fluorescent lighting is fully recycled.
• Efficient climate control: Our HVAC systems are managed through a
  programmable Building Management System to maximize energy performance.
• Responsible landscaping: All non-irrigated plants are hand-watered, and
  irrigation systems are fully programmable for efficiency. Weed and pest control are conducted without the use of chemicals, and rainwater harvesting supports selective landscape areas.
• Sustainable materials and lighting: Seasonal and landscape lighting utilizes LED and CFL products where feasible, reducing energy consumption.
• Waste reduction: Styrofoam and construction waste are source-separated for recycling.

Together, these initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to responsible stewardship ensuring Uptown remains a vibrant, efficient, and environmentally conscious destination
for our community.
